I wanted to share this wonderful post from Chef Mimi who is someone I admire in the food blogging community and who has been a great encouragement to me with my own blog.  If you’re a keen foodie and haven’t come across http://www.chefmimiblog.com, then I urge you to look her up because you’re really missing out.  With the festive season fast approaching I thought my readers would enjoy her Cranberry Aigre Doux post as much as I have.  Now does it get any more mouthwatering than cranberry and soft cheese!

 

Mr. Paul Virant, author of The Preservation Kitchen, claims that aigre-doux means sweet and sour. He also uses the term mostarda, and there are mostarda recipes in his book as well.
